Galileo, the Medici and the Age of the Telescope

This week it's off to Philadelphia to the Franklin Institute to participate in their opening of Galileo, the Medici and the Age of the Telescope. The Franklin and Fels Planetarium have managed to get Galileo's telescope for part of the International Year of Astronomy from the Institute and Museum of the History of Science in Florence.

I'll be giving my program several… Continue

Galileo goes to Washington (and Baltimore)

I just got back from performing my Galileo Galilei the Starry Messenger at the Space Telescope Science Institute at Johns Hopkins University. It was a family event for middle school students interested in science and technology. We had a very good audience with lots of questions for Galileo. Before visiting STScI, I visited a school in the DC area and stopped in DC for a look.

The inauguration took quite a toll on the National Mall.… Continue

Bangor Film Fest report

Well, I'm sorry to say I was a little disappointed. It is a "very" long drive to Bangor and I was really hoping to see "Fathers" on the big screen. What was there was a beautiful auditorium (the local high school), but a tiny screen set up on the stage and a home quality unbalanced video projector. The audience was very small, probably because there were more than one events going on at the same time. They were very appreciative though and that part was nice.

The other films that evening were q… Continue

"Fathers" to appear at Bangor Film Festival

I worked on a grad thesis film for a student (Bridget Lake) from Loyola U in California a couple of years ago. "Fathers" will be shown in the upcoming Bangor Film Festival on Friday August 15. We had a great cast including NE actors, Michele Romano, Bill Mootos, Bill Steele and NY actress Diane Gioseffi, as well as a wonderfully talented crew from all over. If anyone is attending the festival, I'm going to try to get up there myself. Please look me up.… Continue

I don't think my comment made it to you as it seemed to go a bit wonky, but it was lovely of you to think of me from such a long time ago and now I know you have a beard I'll recognize you next time I see you. Jennifer

Hey Mike,
Happy New Year. We kind of ended thing abrutly with In The Name of The Son. Weather did a number on us. Never got back to finish up, did you?
They said they were going to re-write the end of the script.
At the same time I got overloaded and shut down by AOL and lost all contacts with everyone including agents. Slowly but surely getting back. My new emails at the moment is pmcswiggin2@aol.com and mcswiggin@comcast.net Tel numbers still the same, 508-397-4444 C and 978-774-4407 H. when you have time email me and bring me up to date. It was a pleasure working with you and hope to again soon.
Thanks, Pete

Hi, Mike. Thanks for the add. I've been getting some one-day gigs, but it's not like the multi-day projects that I've been hearing y'all beantown natives have been enjoying.
